Safety & credentials
Paperwork is part of the job. Here is exactly how we are licensed, insured, qualified and inspected — and what we do on site so nobody has a bad day.
Licensing & insurance
- Broward County business registration, current
- $2,000,000 commercial general liability
- Workers' compensation coverage on all employees
- $1,000,000 commercial auto for the service rig
- Certificates of insurance issued to marinas, HOAs and GCs on request, usually same day
- W-9 and vendor onboarding paperwork handled by the shop coordinator
Welding qualifications
- AWS D1.1 — structural steel, groove and fillet, all positions
- AWS D1.2 — structural aluminum
- AWS D1.6 — stainless steel
- Written WPS and welder qualification records kept on file per job
- Processes: GTAW (TIG), GMAW / pulse MIG, FCAW, SMAW
- Third-party NDT (dye penetrant, ultrasonic) arranged when a spec calls for it

Hot-work practices we do not skip
Fire watch
A dedicated fire watch during welding and for 30 minutes after, with extinguishers staged and a charged hose when we are on a vessel.
Containment
Welding blankets, spark shields and drop cloths over teak, gelcoat, decking and landscaping. Grinding is screened to keep steel dust off stainless and glass.
Ventilation & PPE
Fume extraction in confined spaces, respirators for galvanized or coated stock, and full PPE for every person inside the work zone.
Electrical isolation
Bonding and ground path checked before welding on a vessel to protect shafts, bearings and electronics from stray current.
Clean handover
Magnet sweep, vacuum, slag and stub disposal, and a walkthrough with the owner or dockmaster before we pull off site.
Zero OSHA recordable incidents since 2019. Toolbox talks are held weekly and documented.
Quality control
How a weld gets signed off
Material verification
Mill certs recorded for structural stock; alloy confirmed before cutting so 304 never ends up where 316 was specified.
Fit-up inspection
Joint prep, gap, root opening and alignment checked and photographed before welding begins.
Visual & NDT
100% visual inspection to AWS acceptance criteria; dye penetrant or ultrasonic testing added when the spec or the client asks.
Documented handover
Weld map, photos and warranty statement issued with the final invoice, plus care instructions for the finish.

Warranty covers defects in our workmanship under normal use. It does not cover collision, storm damage, abuse, unauthorized modification, corrosion caused by dissimilar metals introduced by others, or lack of the maintenance described in the handover documents.
